Class Descriptions

Back Care Yoga

Asanas (postures) done to align the spine and offer reduction in back discomfort and pain. Most movements are done sitting or lying on the floor and gentle, soft adjustments are how deepening of postures is achieved.

Good for those with back issues who need ways to stretch and relieve pain without pushing too hard.

Hatha Yoga

A general descriptor meaning a yoga class where the focus is on holding asanas (postures) while creating alignment of body and breath.

Good for strength, flexibility and balance.

Mobility & ROM
(Range of Motion)

Mobility is your ability to do everyday movements with ease.

This class gives you an opportunity to work on your tight and limited ROM areas.

Restorative Yoga

The place to be for a gentle, relaxing stretch while working on Pranayama (breathing) and Meditation.

Good for stress reduction, tension relief and overall restoration of both body and mind.

Slow Vinyasa

Often labeled as Flow, this is a quicker pace than Hatha. Emphasis is on alignment as we move steadily through a series of asanas/ postures.

Good for cardiovascular health, strength and balance.

Strength
& Balance

Geared to target single leg and arm movements (using combination movements and isometrics) to build strength and improve balance. Workout geared for those NOT interested in high impact, plyometric or HIIT workouts. We will use weights, resistance bands, BOSU and bodyweight to build muscle and work on improving balance.

Good for strength, cardiovascular health and muscle building / increasing bone density.

Yin Yoga

We do poses seated and lying on the ground with props. We hold the poses longer than in Hatha, working to deepen and often relax into the posture as best we can.

Yin Yoga is very similar to Restorative.

Sculpt
(Intermediate to Advanced)

Where weights meet yoga and exercise meets zen. Think bootcamp style workouts without the yelling. Bodyweight, dumbbells, kettlebells, slam balls… these are a few of our favorite things when doing Yoga Sculpt. A willingness to sweat profusely is a must. ;-).

This is not a drop in class. All students must have permission from the instructor prior to attending.

Good for strength, cardiovascular health and muscle building / increasing bone density.
